The feds have broken up a gang based at the Moore Houses in Mott Haven.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara announced the indictment of 21 members and associates of the MurderMoore Gangstas (“MMG”) on June 14. The are charged with conspiracy to distribute crac” cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, MDMA or “ecstasy” and painkillers.

On June 13 and 14, federal, state and local law enforcement officers swept up 14 MMG members and associates in coordinated raids. Five of those charged have not been caught, and one was already behind bars.

According to court documents, the 21 were snared in an undercover operation that began last December. Police bought drugs from gang members who operated an open-air drug mart near 550 Cauldwell Ave. and 480 Concord Ave., the criminal complaint says.

The gang also sold guns out of St. Mary’s Park, according to the testimony of an NYPD detective included in the complaint, and on one occasion opened fire on rival drug sellers on Concord Avenue, according to the indictment.

Police also wire-tapped some of the defendants’ telephones and heard them doing drug business, the indictment says.

After making the arrests, police searched the Moore Houses and found small amounts of drugs, a rifle and a revolver and drug paraphernalia, said Bharara’s spokesman.
