Assaults
A 32-year-old woman was slashed at a Mott Haven strip club on Dec. 30. Police say the victim was dancing at Sin City around 4 in the morning when someone cut her face with a box cutter. She was treated at Lincoln Hospital. Police are searching for a suspect.

A visitor to Melrose was shot while walking along Trinity Avenue and East 161 St. The shooting took place just before 2 on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. The 35-year-old man told police another man came up and shot him multiple times in both legs. The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital. No arrests have been made.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the neck in the early morning on New Year’s day. The victim was headed to the store across from Mill Brook Houses on East 137th St. at 7 a.m. when a man shot him in the left side of the neck. He was treated at Lincoln Hospital. Cops arrested Freddie Jaiman, 22, who pleaded not guilty to murder and assault. Bail was set at $250,000.

Mott Haven resident Wilfred Ramos, 30, is accused of attacking his girlfriend in the early morning on New Year’s Day in front of their eight-year-old daughter, in their home at East 135th Street and Brown Place. According to the Bronx District Attorney’s office, Ramos dragged the 31-year-old victim across the room by her hair, then choked, kicked and punched her. Ramos pleaded not guilty to charges including assault, and was released on his own recognizance. He is due in court Jan. 13.

Police arrested Maliki Lundy, 26, of Mott Haven, for assaulting his wife and their child in their home at East 138th Street and Brown Place at about 1:15 pm on New Year’s Day. According to the DA’s office, Lundy choked and punched his wife after an argument, then shook their infant daughter. As he was leaving, Lundy allegedly dropped 17 bags of marijuana and two Xanax pills, the DA’s office reported. Lundy has pleaded not guilty to charges including assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance, and is due in court Feb. 14. The mother and child were treated at Lincoln Hospital.

A 59-yearold man was struck over the head with a steel pipe by an unidentified man at 5:30 p.m. of Jan. 6 as he was walking on the corner of Prospect Avenue and East 151st St. Police are searching for the suspect.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Mott Haven man for attacking a traffic agent, shouting racial slurs at him and threatening to kill him for ticketing his car while it was parked on East 149th St. Andrew Martinez, who saw the agent ticketing his car at 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, was arrested and charged with assault. Martinez pleaded not guilty and is being held on $1,500 bail. The agent was treated at Lincoln Hospital for injuries to his left middle finger.

Three Mott Haven youths attacked a 21-year old man on East 138th Street at about 1:30 pm on Jan. 4, police said. The three allegedly slashed his face and left hand with a razor. The victim received 25 stitches at Lincoln Hospital. Cops arrested an 18-year-old Bronx resident in connection with the crime and are looking for the other suspects.

A woman stabbed her male relative on Cypress Avenue and East 140th St. at about 11 a.m. on Jan. 4, police said. The woman argued with the 24-year-old relative while the two argued about family matters. She then stabbed him in the left arm with a kitchen knife. No arrests have been made.

Robberies
Two teenagers robbed a Mott Haven woman in the elevator of her building at Eagle Avenue and East 139th Street, before her boyfriend caught them. The 23-year-old victim was coming home with her infant son just before 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve when the two teenage girls accosted her in the elevator, pepper sprayed her in the face, kicked her in the stomach and stripped her of her purse, coat, phone, and jewelry, according to the DA’s office. When they tried to run away, the victim’s boyfriend grabbed the two and held them until cops arrived. A 17- and 19-year old have pleaded not guilty to charges including assault and robbery, and are being held on $5,000 bail.

A man’s chain was snatched off his neck after he left his sister’s home on New Year’s Day morning, police said. The victim, 25, had left the Cauldwell Avenue residence just before 2 in the morning when an unknown assailant took his chain and knocked him to the ground.

A would-be phone thief settled for cash, police said. The robbery victim, a 60-year-old man, was on East 135th Street at about 3:00 a.m. on Jan. 5 when the thief came up and asked, “what kind of phone you got?” police said. The crook then knocked the man down, took $110 from his front pocket and ran away. No arrests have been made.

Ten men and one woman robbed a passerby at gunpoint in the predawn hours on Jan. 6. The group surrounded a 21-year-old victim on Melrose Avenue and 152nd Street just before 5 a.m. While one threatened the victim with a gun, the others knocked the man to the ground, kicked him, and took $200 from his pants pocket. Police arrested Baraquiel Castelan, 21, and a 15-year-old on charges of robbery and assault. Both pleaded not guilty and have a court date on Jan. 11.

Grand larcenies
Keith Outlaw, 39, is accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s coat and keys. Outlaw came into the woman’s apartment at 3:30 am on Jan. 5 and refused to leave, according to the Bronx DA’s office. When she put on her coat to leave, Outlaw allegedly grabbed the coat and keys and ran from the apartment. Outlaw pleaded not guilty and is due in court on Feb. 20.

A resident of Mill Brook houses had $2,300 worth of Apple goods stolen from his room, police said. The 24-year-old man, returned to his bedroom at about 10 a.m. on Jan. 3 to find his iPad, iPod and MacBook Pro gone. He told police his cousins, who live with him, stole the items, but no arrests have been made so far.

A 36-year-old man was robbed at the gym on New Year’s Eve, police said. The victim had put his wallet and jacket into a locket at a 3rd Avenue Planet Fitness at about 6 in the evening, cops said. The thieves stole his wallet, containing the man’s social security card, Green Card and debit card, which they later used to withdraw $70. No arrests have been made.

Crooks broke into a parked car on Willis Avenue and East 139th St. at 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Cops say they broke the front passenger window to take the driver’s license, state ID, NYPD ID card and credit cards. Police are looking for the suspects.

Two men tried to pickpocket a transit rider at 6 p.m. on Jan. 4 but were apprehended by an officer on the northbound 2 train, police said. According to the DA’s office, one man took an iPhone from a passenger’s backpack while his accomplice tried to conceal what her partner in crime was doing. Tiheam Bynum, 23, and Tymeek Campbell, 20, were arrested and pleaded not guilty to charges of grand larceny. Campbell is being held on $1,500 bail; Bynum was released on his own recognizance.

A college student from upstate was pickpocketed while waiting on line at a candy store on Jan. 6. The woman, 19, was inside the store at 487 Brook Avenue at about 8:50 in the evening when her wallet was lifted without her noticing.

A 32-year-old woman had her iPhone snatched mid-conversation at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 6. Police say the victim was on Brown Place and East 137th Street when a man ran up from behind and snatched the phone out of her hand. They are looking for the suspect.

Crooks broke into a CubeSmart storage unit at 200 E. 135 St. in December to steal kitchen equipment. The victim, a 42-year-old woman, put a padlock on her unit on Dec. 7, police said. When she returned, the lock had been cut and an array of KitchenAid equipment gone, including a stand mixer, hand mixer, blender, toaster and coffee maker. No arrests have been made.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.
