Hostos College will host the third annual job fair and career-readiness event on Friday, May 29 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Local nonprofit South Bronx Rising Together has teamed up with the SUNY ATTAIN Martin Luther King Resource Center to organize this year’s event. The fair is part of South Bronx Rising Together’s “NEW BRONX, NEW BEGINNINGS” initiative to connect employers with qualified job seekers. The organization’s mission is to provide career training and guidance for residents of the area.

Last year, ATTAIN partnered with the Department of Labor to bring over 45 employers to the fair. Nearly 1000 job seekers to registered.
Job seekers are encouraged to attend the Career Readiness Workshop before meeting with employers. At the workshop, counselors will be on hand to help them polish their resumes and provide pointers on how to make a positive impression on prospective employers.
More than 50 businesses across from a number of industries, including healthcare, construction, retail and government, are expected to attend. Employers will be available to interview candidates on the spot for positions as customer-service representatives, sales associates, security guards, drivers, managers, cashiers, and more.
