Brook Park will be the site of a community day of feasting, games and gardening on June 12 from noon until 6 p.m.
The park and community garden on East 141st Street and Brook Avenue will host free food, face-painting, games and arts and crafts, and will offer a chance to help plant the garden.
The event is sponsored by students at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in Riverdale who have taken part in the school’s City Semester program, based in Mott Haven.
“Throughout the program the students have built a relationship with Brook Park,” wrote Jeremy Silverman, one of the participants, in an email. “Every Wednesday we come to Brook Park to help with composting and planting.”
The community day is free and open to all.
