The deadline is fast approaching for protesters who took part in the Black Lives Matter protests in Port Morris on June 4, 2020, to claim their share in a class action lawsuit against the NYPD. Police cracked down on the protesters that evening, beating and arresting many after surrounding them.

A new report in EpicenterNY details the steps protesters who were present at the rally should take to claim up to $21,500 each in compensation, before Aug. 30. The report points out that applicants “do not have to have been arrested in order to file a claim.”
