This year’s Summer Playstreets Program for children is scheduled to start on July 7 and will run through August 22.
The program is free and available to all weekends between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Police Athletic League runs the program every summer on closed-off city streets and in parks, as a way of keeping kids active during the school break.
Activities include sidewalk games, the arts and dance and music. Featured activities this year will include Double Dutch jump rope, Hopscotch, Nok Hockey and basketball.
There will be about 50 Playstreets throughout the city this summer, including several in and around Hunts Point and Mott Haven.
