The work is part of A View from the Lunchroom: Students Bringing Issues to the Table, an annual initiative headed by educational non-profit Learning through an Expanded Arts Program’s (LeAp) to bring the arts to K-through12th grade students in schools across the five boroughs.
Students use lunchroom tables from their schools as the canvas to render their ideas on common themes though art. This year’s students at MS 223 have devoted their semester-long project to the theme of respect.
The exhibition will be on display at St. Mary’s through August.
