A Morrisania charter school is lending support to students and their families this holiday season, to help food banks cope with what they anticipate will be unprecedented demand. Urban Dove Team Charter School II staff distributed more than 200 holiday food baskets filled with canned vegetables, potatoes, apples, eggnog, stuffing, and oven stuffed chickens to Bronx families on Dec. 21.
“The holidays are a time of celebration, and even though there’s a pandemic, we wanted to celebrate with our students and families, even if only for a few moments,” said Jai Nanda, Founder and Executive Director of Urban Dove.
